Pest Control for Home ("Pest Control for Home," "we," "us," or "our") operates this website (the "Site") to publish general pest identification, prevention and control guides, FAQs, and product roundups. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Information We Collect
a) Information you provide directly. The Site includes an optional newsletter email signup form. If and when this feature is active, submitting your email address will add you to our mailing list so we can send you pest-control content and occasional product recommendations. As of the "Last updated" date above, this form is not yet connected to a mailing system, and no email addresses are being stored. This policy is written to cover the practice once it is live. We do not currently offer user accounts, logins, comments, or any other way to submit personal content to the Site.
b) Information collected automatically. Like most websites, standard web server logs may record limited technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and pages requested. The Site does not currently run third-party analytics or advertising trackers that build a profile of you. If we add privacy-respecting analytics in the future to understand which guides are useful, we will update this policy to name the provider.
c) Cookies and affiliate tracking. The Site itself uses only essential and preference cookies (see our Cookie Policy). When you click a product link that takes you to Amazon, Amazon sets its own cookies on your device so it can attribute any resulting qualifying purchase to our Amazon Associates account. We do not control Amazon's cookies; they are governed by Amazon's own privacy policy. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect how some parts of the Site or affiliate links function.
2. How We Use Information
We use the limited information described above to operate, maintain, and improve the Site; to send newsletter content if you have opted in (once the signup feature is active); and to support the Amazon Associates affiliate program (via Amazon's own tracking cookies, not data we collect ourselves). We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you.
3. Third-Party Services
The Site relies on the following categories of third-party services, each of which has its own privacy practices:
- Amazon Associates. Product links on the Site are affiliate links. When you click through, Amazon may set cookies and process data according to Amazon's own privacy policy. See our Affiliate Disclosure page for details.
- Analytics provider. We do not currently use a third-party analytics provider. If we adopt one, it will be named here.
- Email / newsletter provider. The newsletter signup is not yet active and no email addresses are stored. When it is enabled, a reputable email service provider will be used to store and send newsletter emails, and this policy will name it.
4. Data Sharing and Sale
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes. We only share data with the service providers described above, to the extent necessary for them to provide their service to us.
5. Your Privacy Rights
California residents (CCPA/CPRA). If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA). EU/UK visitors (GDPR / UK GDPR). If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights including access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and objection regarding your personal data, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Australian visitors. We aim to handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), including collecting only what is reasonably necessary and not using it for unrelated purposes without consent.

6. Data Retention
We retain newsletter email addresses (once the signup is active) for as long as you remain subscribed, and delete or anonymise them within a reasonable period after you unsubscribe or request deletion. Server logs are kept only for a short period for security and troubleshooting.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information in our control. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
The Site is a general-audience home pest-control resource and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@pestcontrolforhome.com so we can delete it, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
9. International Data Transfers
The Site is operated from and primarily directed at visitors in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your home jurisdiction.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
